Building a Stronger and Healthier Community
Akila Cares is an accredited Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP) with two locations in Baltimore County. PRPs provide comprehensive rehabilitation services in-home and in the community with the goal of facilitating successful participation of adults with severe mental illness, and minors with trauma and/or other behavioral challenges.
We offer a variety of services to children, adolescents, adults, and their families respectively to promote their health, recovery, and resilience. This includes, but is not limited to life skills support, guidance on education and finance, and housing assistance. All our client/consumers are Medicaid recipients; we have structured our program to assist those we believe are often overlooked or lack the means for on-going mental health services.
